2023-24 Induction

Voting will begin soon for our Terrier Hall of Fame and completed by Teachers Convention. Inductees will be notified afterwards and our goal is to have an induction ceremony during this school year at a date to be determined. 

Any nominations received now will be for the next induction cycle. Please see our nomination form for all details about how to nominate a team, athlete, or coach.

DVRHS Athletic Hall of Fame 

*Nomination forms will be kept on file for 5 years.  

*We will induct members every other year (2023, 2025, 2027, 2029, etc...). 

*Mail completed nomination forms to: DVRHS, Hall of Fame Committee, 19 Senator Stout Road, Frenchtown, NJ 08825. Attention: Hall of Fame Committee.

*A committee of current DVRHS head coaches will be formed for voting purposes.

*Voting will take place every other year in April and the induction will take place in the fall at a home football game.

*The Hall of Fame inductees will be displayed on our website.

2021 Inductees

Teams

The 1960 Girls' Basketball Team, which was undefeated during the season and beat the other four Hunterdon County teams.

The 1985 Softball Team, which was the NJSIAA Group 2 state champion, with a season record of 25-2.

The 1985 Wrestling Team, which was the NJSIAA Group 2 state champion, ranked fourth in New Jersey.

Coaches

Bob Snaith, football and baseball coach at Frenchtown High School in 1952-56.

In football, his team won two Central Jersey Group 1 State Championships and the 1955 team was undefeated. In baseball, he coached the 1956 Central Jersey Group 1 Championship team.

Paul Petro Sr., softball coach at Del Val in 1977-87. He coached his teams to five Conference Championships, three N.J. Sectional Championships, and the NJSIAA Group 2 Championship in 1985.

Athletes

Neal Risley, FHS, Class of 1956, for football, basketball and baseball. He was quarterback of the 1954 and '55 Sectional Championship teams. He was All State and All County in 1955. He was a key player on the basketball teams in 1955 and '56 that went a combined 33-3.

Bob Bachman, Del Val Class of 1967 for football, basketball and baseball. He was All State in all three sports. His 1,230 points in basketball is the most in Del Val boys' basketball history. He was a 1,000 point scorer at Glassboro State (Rowan) and is in that school's Hall of Fame.

Ken Berger, Del Val Class of 1969 for football, wrestling and baseball. He had the fourth all time winning percentage in Del Val wrestling with a 57-6 career record. Berger was an All County running back in football, and honorable mention All State second baseman in baseball. He qualified for the NCAA wrestling tournament while at the U.S. Naval Academy, and was the lead in-house announcer for wrestling competition at three Olympic Games.

Sharon (Sloyer) McGowan, Del Val Class of 1973 for field hockey and track. She was a three-time Del Val MVP in field hockey and held the school record for the 400 meter and was undefeated in duals at that distance. She went on to play in Ursinus College's nationally ranked field hockey program.

Jeff Segreaves, Del Val Class of 1975 for wrestling. He was Del Val's first NJSIAA District, Region and State wrestling champion. He was named Outstanding Wrestler in the New Jersey State Wrestling Tournament in 1975.

Kevin Cahill, Del Val Class of 1977 for Cross Country. He was two-time NJSIAA State Group 2 champion, second in N.J. Sectionals, and 14th in the Meet of Champions.

Brent Conly, Del Val Class of 1994 for wrestling and cross country. He was two-time NJSIAA wrestling state champion, three-time state place winner and three-time varsity letter winner in cross country.

Chloe Early, Del Val Class of 2010 for soccer, basketball and track. She was NJSIAA Group 2 state champion and took second place in the Meet of Champions in discus in track. She was Group 2 Central Jersey Sectional record holder in the discus, and four-time varsity letter winner in soccer and track, and three-time letter winner in basketball.

Alyssa Fleming, Del Val Class of 2010 for soccer, basketball and track. She was the leading scorer in Del Val history, in either boys’ or girls’ basketball, with 1,417 points. She was on the second team All Group 2 girls’ soccer and was on the Del Val team that set the school record in 4x400m in girls’ track.
