Mr. Scott McKinney

The Delaware Valley Regional High School Board of Education is proud to welcome Scott McKinney as the Superintendent of the Delaware Valley Regional High School District. Mr. McKinney brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the K-12 Assistant Superintendent at Berkeley Heights Public Schools. His educational journey began as a Social Studies Teacher at Governor Livingston School, where he later transitioned into various administrative roles, showcasing his leadership and passion for education.

With an extensive background in educational leadership, Mr. McKinney has a proven track record in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. He is a strong advocate for integrating technology into learning, understanding its pivotal role in preparing students for their future. His leadership in strategic planning has driven improvements in school performance, fostering environments where students and staff thrive.

In addition to his administrative experience, Mr. McKinney has also contributed as an athletic coach and club advisor. He recognizes the importance of a well-rounded educational experience, championing the performing arts and advocating for expanded opportunities that engage all students. His commitment to student growth, both academically and personally, aligns with Del Val’s mission to engage and prepare our students through a broad range of dynamic opportunities, inspiring them to achieve their fullest potential and graduate ready to embrace their future.

Mrs. Teresa O'Brien

Mrs. O'Brien came to Delaware Valley Regional High School in 2013 with 18 years of experience as a School Business Administrator. She began her career in school business in Hunterdon County, spent the majority of her career in Lopatcong Township in Warren County, and most recently in Hackettstown Public Schools. Mrs. O'Brien earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Kutztown University and completed a Master's degree in School Business Leadership from Wilkes University in 2019. Mrs. O'Brien has been recognized by the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials as a Registered School Business Official and Professional Mentor.

Mr. Michael Kays

Mr. Michael Kays

Originally from Belvidere, New Jersey, Michael Kays brings 20 years of experience as an educator to Delaware Valley Regional High School. After receiving both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Michael began his career as a social studies teacher at Spotswood High School before moving on to Allentown High School. After over a decade in the classroom, Michael embarked on a career in administration, first as Vice Principal of Stonebridge Middle School in Allentown, New Jersey, then, as an Assistant Principal at Livingston High School in Livingston, New Jersey. Michael is excited to bring his experiences as a coach, mentor, and administrator to Delaware Valley Regional High School and take an active role in character-building through consistency and compassion.
