Clubs & Activities
Art Club:
Art Club fosters creativity beyond the regular curriculum through a variety of student-driven activities and projects. Meeting at least 10 times per year, members explore different art forms, participate in exhibitions, engage in critiques, and take part in service projects and field trips. Art Club's goal is to provide members with: a safe and inclusive environment where they can grow and explore creativity, access to various art mediums and materials, and exposure to art and art history through the creative process, as well as visiting artists.
Book Club:
Book Club is a student-facilitated group that selects and discusses books based on members' interests. Meeting monthly, the club fosters thoughtful discussions on theme, ideas, and literary elements from the books. Students may be interested in participating in "Battle of the Books," where they will read a designated book list and take part in practice "battles," quizzing each other using sample questions. Additional activities may include fundraising to support the team's participation in competitions.
Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) Club:
Bring Change to Mind Club's mission is to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness. The vision and scope of the club is for Del Val students to create a platform to share their voices and raise awareness around mental health and wellness. The goal is to empower students to educate one another and their communities as well as create a positive culture of support within their school.
Buddies Unified Program:
Created by volunteer staff, general education students, parents, and community members, the Buddies-Unified Program builds friendships and inclusivity by connecting students with special needs with general education peers. Through social activities and community involvement, the program helps all participants develop meaningful relationships and feel a greater of sense of belonging at Del Val.
Choral Music Program:
The Choral Music Program provides students with opportunities to develop vocal skills and perform in various settings. Students can participate in multiple ensembles, fostering teamwork and growth through concerts, festivals, and community performances. The flagship ensemble is Concert Choir, open to all students with no audition required.
After completing Concert Choir, students may audition for Vox Auri, an advanced chamber ensemble. Vox Auri performs challenging choral music and represents Del Val’s curricular Choral Program. On the extracurricular side, Vox Blue, Del Val’s competitive a cappella group, performs contemporary music at competitions and community events. Vox Blue competes annually in the SingStrong International A Cappella Festival and the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA), featured in the Pitch Perfect movies.
Cycling Club:
The Cycling Club brings together students who share an interest in biking for fitness, adventure, and environmental awareness. The club organizes group rides, promotes bike safety, and encourages students to enjoy the outdoors while staying active.
The Delphi:
The Delphi program serves as Del Val’s student-run newspaper, providing a platform for aspiring journalists to report on school events, local news, and student interests. Members contribute through writing, editing, photography, and design to create a publication that informs and engages the school community.
Del Val TV Media:
The Del Val TV Media program provides students with hands-on experience in broadcast journalism, video production, and media editing. Members create content for school announcements, special events, and video projects while developing skills in communication and storytelling.
Environmental Club:
The Environmental Club works to promote sustainability and environmental awareness at Del Val. Members engage in discussions and projects aimed at making the school more eco-friendly. The club focuses on three main goals: participating in local clean-ups to maintain a clean environment, recycling items like pens, markers, and old towels that would otherwise end up in landfills, and providing education through monthly documentary discussions on environmental issues.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA):
The FBLA prepares students for careers in business and leadership through competitions, networking events, and real-world learning experiences. Members develop skills in entrepreneurship, finance, and management while participating in state and national conferences.
Games Club:
The Games Club is an inclusive, open-membership gathering for students and teachers who enjoy board games, card games, and tabletop games. The club provides a safe space for students to gather, offering opportunities to experience and learn new games from our growing inventory. Goals include fostering cooperative and competitive play, developing strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. We also aim to collaborate with other Del Val groups to bring joy to our school community. Currently, the club focuses on internal activities, with potential for future community involvement.
Habitat for Humanity:
This club partners with Habitat for Humanity to support affordable housing initiatives. Members participate in fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer opportunities to help build and improve homes in the community.
Instrumental Music Program:
The Instrumental Music Program offers students opportunities to join various ensembles, with the Concert Band as the core curricular group. The Golden Regiment Marching Band, open to grades 8-12, performs at football games, parades, and competitions. The Golden Blues Jazz Band, by audition, performs at community events and competes statewide.
International Club:
The International Club aims to explore cultural diversity and educate the school community about different cultural practices. Students engage in discussions with individuals from diverse backgrounds, organize cultural events, and research traditions. Topics include language, food, holidays, clothing, education, and societal roles. The club’s goals are to deepen understanding of global cultures, inform the Del Val community about international events, and raise awareness of the international population at Del Val.
Key Club:
The Key Club is a community-based organization of student volunteers who are dedicated to service in the school, family, community, county, and also to international causes. The goal is to provide community service to the community, continue advocacy, encourage student involvement, learn life skills, and assist with college applications. Activities include the NORWESCAP Food Drive, Trick or Treat for UNICEF, and the March for Babies. Students are engaged in many other activities and events as well.
Literary Magazine:
The Literary Magazine is an annual publication at Delaware Valley Regional High School, featuring artwork, prose, poetry, and other student submissions. The club’s main responsibilities include soliciting, reviewing, selecting, organizing, and producing the magazine. In conjunction with the release, the club hosts a “release party” to honor the contributors. The goal of "Changing Perspectives" and the Literary Magazine is to create a student-run, student-supplied print magazine, and ongoing digital space that fosters creativity and recognizes exceptional literary and artistic work.
Model United Nations Club:
The Model UN Club provides students with the opportunity to engage in diplomacy, debate, and international relations by simulating real-world global issues. Members research, prepare resolutions, and participate in conferences where they represent different countries.
National Honor Society (NHS):
The National Honor Society recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Eligible juniors and seniors undergo a selective induction process and engage in service projects that benefit the school and community.
Peer Leadership/Mediation:
The Peer Leadership/Mediation program trains upperclassmen to mentor freshmen and help them transition into high school. Peer leaders create a welcoming environment and provide ongoing guidance. Freshmen are paired with a peer leader who's available throughout the year for support.
Quill & Scroll Honor Society:
Quill & Scroll is an international honor society that recognizes outstanding achievement in journalism and the arts. Membership is open to students who have demonstrated excellence in areas such as writing, editing, photography, and design. The society encourages students to develop their communication skills and fosters a commitment to ethical journalism. Members are also involved in promoting the values of free expression, accuracy, and social responsibility in the media.
Robotics Club:
The Robotics Club gives students hands-on experience in engineering, programming, and problem-solving. Members design, build, and compete with robots while learning about STEM-related careers and teamwork.
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Club:
The SADD Club is a group of young adults addressing the challenges and pressures they face in daily life. Its purpose is to create and sustain student-run chapters focused on peer-to-peer education. The inclusive organization welcomes all youth seeking support for healthy development and fosters a sense of belonging. It promotes resiliency, leadership, and advocacy skills to help young people make positive life decisions.
Students Advocating for Equality (SAFE) Club:
The SAFE Club promotes open discussion and awareness of modern culture and intersectionality while striving to make positive contributions to the community. The club’s long-term goal is to create a welcoming, safe environment where everyone is respected. Activities include community events, advocacy for various student groups, a Halloween-themed color run, monthly theme celebrations, fundraising through bake sales and kickball games, and recruiting new members.
Science National Honor Society (SNHS):
The Science National Honor Society recognizes high school students who have demonstrated excellence in science. Members participate in various science-related activities, community service projects, and educational outreach, all aimed at promoting scientific inquiry and encouraging a passion for science. Students are required to maintain a high academic standard in their science courses and contribute to the club's activities to qualify for membership.
Sports & Spirit Club:
The Sports & Spirit Club supports various aspects of the school environment through activities like organizing "Tuffy the Terrier" appearances at events, providing timers and scorekeepers for athletic competitions, and volunteering at Del Val-sponsored events. Some club members have secured a charter for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, selling lemonade at events to raise funds. Our Lemonade Charter has even won the top charter in the Northeast District!
Student Council:
The Student Council serves as the voice of the student body, working with school administrators and faculty to improve school life. Members are elected by peers and organize events, fundraisers, and initiatives that promote school unity and engagement.
Tennis Club:
The Tennis Club at meets weekly on the tennis courts during the fall and spring to promote health and well-being in a non-competitive environment. The club focuses on learning tennis fundamentals, including forehand, backhand, volley, serves, scoring, and playing singles and doubles. In the winter (December-March), we use scheduled court time at Courtside Racquet Club on Sunday afternoons. The club welcomes students of all ability levels!
Theatre Program:
The Theatre Program offers students the chance to participate in four annual productions: a fall play, winter musical, Unified Theatre Cabaret, and the Performing Arts Night of Shorts & Dance Showcase. Roles include acting, stage crew, lighting, set design, and costume management, fostering creative expression and teamwork.
Thespian Honor Society:
The Thespian Honor Society honors students for their dedication to theatre arts. Members earn induction through active participation in school and community theatre productions and contribute to the growth of Del Val’s theatre program.
Tri-M Music Honor Society:
Tri-M Music Honor Society is a national organization that recognizes students for their outstanding musical abilities, academic excellence, and leadership in the music community. Tri-M members are involved in service projects, music-related events, and community outreach to promote the value of music education. Membership is based on a combination of musical achievement, academic performance, and a commitment to serve as ambassadors for the school’s music program.
Yearbook:
The Yearbook staff are responsible for capturing and preserving school memories through photography, layout design, and storytelling. Students in Editorial Layout and in the club work together to create the annual yearbook "The Valley", documenting student life, events, and achievements at Del Val.
