West Point’s Summer Leaders Experience (SLE): At West Point they develop Leaders of Character, and they are looking for high-achieving young people who are in great standing with their school and community, and who want to challenge themselves. Drexel University Arts and Sciences Summer Institutes: The College of Arts and Sciences at Drexel University offers a number of research-rich summer programs that enable students to bond with each other while gaining valuable experience that will support their academic and professional futures. AMDA High School Conservatory: AMDA offers programs in dance, acting, musical theatre, and singing as 2-week sessions in both NYC and LA, as well as an online option. Click here to further explore the options, program dates, and registration information.
Rutgers Business School Summer Camp: The 2023 Rutgers summer business camp is to be held as a residential camp on the Livingston campus. All participants need to be fully vaccinated, per the university guidelines, and proof of vaccination is required for all. Click here for the Camp’s website. The RBS Summer Camp Program will be offered two separate weeks: July 9 – 15, 2023 and July 23 – 29, 2023 at the Livingston Apartments and Rutgers Business School on the Livingston Campus (Piscataway, NJ) Cost: $1,900. Columbia University Programs for High School Students: Summer Immersion at Columbia is delivered in 3-week residential and commuter programs as well as in a 1-week commuter-only program. Students choose from over 100 courses, covering a rich variety of subjects. They experience an Ivy League education and explore the creative life of New York City, the ultimate cultural classroom. Students are joined by a dedicated cohort of trained Residential Advisors who help students manage campus life, and guide them through exciting activities in the city. Temple University The Tyler Environmental Design Institute: This program welcomes 10th, 11th and 12th-grade students to explore careers within landscape architecture and horticulture in this hands-on program that incorporates science, design and sustainability. This immersive program utilizes the facilities on Temple's Main Campus in Philadelphia and the living laboratory of gardens and horticulture projects at Temple's Ambler Arboretum. Through design projects, visits by practicing professionals, an introduction to the latest computer-aided technologies and field trips to project sites, you’ll broaden your knowledge about the natural and built environment, advance your skills and discover creative career paths. Virginia Tech Black College Institute: Virginia Tech invites talented, high-achieving and intellectually curious rising high school juniors and rising seniors to apply to participate in the summer, residential, academic leadership program at the Virginia Tech main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. Black College Institute (for rising seniors) will offer five-day sessions twice during the summer of 2020 and Black College Institute (for rising juniors) will offer a three-day session for the summer. All programs are FREE of cost to students! Students must arrange their own transportation to and from the Virginia Tech, Blacksburg campus. Miami University (Ohio) Summer Scholars Program: The Summer Scholars Program provides a rich, early college experience for academically-talented rising high school juniors and seniors from across the globe. Students will join an engaged community of learners for an intense, two-week program in which they do the following: Participate in challenging, immersive academic modules centered on a specific topic or area of interest; Learn alongside our leading faculty and professional experts; Reside in a "living-learning" community with other Summer Scholars participants and get a real preview of college life — live in a residence hall, eat in our award-winning dining halls, and enjoy campus facilities such as our Recreational Sports Center and Goggin Ice Center; Attend special workshops on topics such as the college admission process and financial assistance. Worcester Polytechnic Institute Pre-College Programs: There are various programs available for grades 9-12. STEM-focused, humanities enriched college experience that makes for one unforgettable summer! New this year for 11th & 12th graders - the Frontiers for Credit option, allows you the chance to kickstart your college career as you further your knowledge of STEM. Frontiers is already a great way to experience college life, and now, with two three-credit college courses in organic chemistry and linear algebra taught by WPI faculty in a four-week program, you’ll be able to take what you learn here and turn it into college credit. Syracuse University Summer College: Syracuse University Summer College offers high school students the opportunity to explore their passions and experience college life for one to six weeks with over 60 credit and noncredit pre-college programs and courses. Summer College pre-college programs and courses, offered in eleven of SU’s schools and colleges, reflect the richness and diversity of the majors and minors at Syracuse University. All Summer College programs and courses are college-level and led by Syracuse University faculty and instructors. Residential students live in a residence hall and eat their meals in a dining hall. University of Delaware Edge Summer College Program: The Edge summer college program at the University of Delaware offers opportunities to talented high school students across the country moving into their junior or senior year. Rutgers University - Summer Business Camp: This is an experiential camp which allows campers to experience the various business disciplines: Marketing, Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics and Supply Chain. Rutgers Business Camp will provide high school students an opportunity to learn the basics of business. Students will form business teams which will become partnerships in creating proposed new business ventures. They will develop business plans with their new partners and present those plans in a business plan competition. Integrated into this experience will be visits to various corporate/business sites, speakers, and lessons on beginning to identify potential college majors and career paths. There will be visits to business locations to provide the students with a first-hand exposure to how business is conducted. Sample sites may include AT&T, Johnson & Johnson, and Hershey. Boston University Journalism Institute: The New England Center for Investigative Reporting presents a once-in-a-lifetime experience for high school students interested in journalism, communications or writing. Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Boston University Summer Journalism Institute gives students ages 14 to 18 the opportunity to expand their skills, experience college life and explore Boston. Cornell Pre-College Studies: Experience the challenge of college study with Cornell faculty and earn college credit while still a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school. Boston University Academy of Media Production: This four-week workshop presents the opportunity to explore the many aspects of media production while developing the skills needed to be a successful storyteller. University of Virginia Advance Summer Institute: UVA Advance is a four-week summer residential program for highly-motivated, rising high school juniors and seniors that offers participants an opportunity to experience college life at the University of Virginia. Rider University Pre-College Programs: Motivated high school students achieve their academic and artistic goals by attending a Rider University Pre-College Program. Rider University offers a variety of program options for enrichment or for credit. Students who successfully complete the summer pre-college programs are eligible for a renewable scholarship. Programs include Sports Media Academy, Entrepreneurial Academy, Film Acting and Video Academy, Musical Theater Institute, Contemporary Vocal Institute, Westminster Summer Programs for Young Artists, and a Gifted and Talented Program. Fairleigh Dickinson Pre-College Program: Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Summer Pre-College Program offers talented students in grades 10 to 12 the opportunity to get a jump-start on earning college credits while getting a taste of college life. Whether you attend for two or four weeks, you’ll develop valuable skills and learn cutting-edge techniques in these exciting college-level courses. New York Film Academy: They offer programs in Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Screenwriting, Broadcast Journalism, Photography, Musical Theater, Game Design, Music Video, Documentary Filmmaking, and 3D Animation programs. You will gain intensive study in your discipline and students develop new skills, make lasting friendships, develop their portfolios, and grow as artists. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - Try Engineering Summer Institute: The goal of this program is to spark enthusiasm in engineering and technology in the next generation of problem-solvers and difference-makers, and position these innovators for long-term success in academics and in life. Hunterdon Art Museum: These camps are fun, week-long immersions into a theme, medium or skill. Most camps are half-day so that students can enjoy different activities throughout the day and from week to week. All materials are provided unless otherwise specified. Michener Art Museum: Students through grade 12 can choose from an array of full-day and half-day summer camps in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, fashion design, sewing, jewelry making, stained glass, anime, comic books, and so much more. We also host a popular two-week art, music, and theater program. Gallery visits and sculpture garden adventures are an inspiration for student artwork throughout the summer. Weekly displays of art in the Education Gallery celebrate student creativity. Individualized attention, small classes, and award-winning teachers inspire the discovery of variety of art forms and art materials, encourage the development of new skills, and build confidence in creative expression. Berkeley College Summer Workshop Series: These two-day workshops allow students to gain first-hand experience in the field of their choice and they include field trips. The areas available include Business, Fashion, Graphic Design, Healthcare, Interior Design, and Legal/Justice Studies. Each workshop only costs $50 for the 2 days. Marist University Summer Pre-College Programs: They include programs in business, creative writing, criminal justice, cyber security, entrepreneurship, environmental science, fashion design, fashion merchandising, film and TV production, game design, history, pre-health, pre-law, psychology, sports communication and theatre. These pre-college programs are offered in Poughkeepsie, NYC, and Italy. There is also the option of earning college credits. Roger Williams University - Summer Architecture Academy: An intensive four-week Summer Academy offers a variety of studio, seminar and field experiences, extracurricular activities and field trips to high school students who have successfully completed their sophomore or junior year of study. It allows students to understand architecture as a possible area of college study, and as a career. Campus is located in Rhode Island, tuition includes housing, meals, and some supplies. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Pre-College: Students will experiment with new materials, tools, and techniques, study with award-winning instructors, take risks, test theories and challenge ideas. This program follows a college-level curriculum with day-long studio classes, visits to the Nature Lab and RISD Museum, critiques and final projects that will forever shape the way you approach art and design. Montclair State University Early College Programs: There are a variety of programs and non-credit institutes for high school students to choose from this summer, through Early College Programs. Programs include: Hispanic Student College Institute, Italian Immersion Summer Program, Model United Nations Summer Academy, Early College Scholars, and Pre-Law Summer Academy. Adelphi University Hispanic Community Partnership Program: Designed to expose Hispanic high school students to college life while gaining the know-how, skills, resources, and confidence to pursue a college degree. To participate in this program, a student must be of Hispanic background, a rising senior, in good academic standing and demonstrate qualities of potential and promise. The program is free of charge.
